Bio

Sheila Walsh was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and graduated from Boston University. The first part of her career was as an actress. Her full-length plays include: Tea With Mommy and Jack(starring Sylvia Miles) River Arts Theatre, Woodstock,N.Y and the Hudson Guild Theatre, New York City. (Included in Lincoln Center Library’s Archive of Theaterical Productions Collection.) O the Days! –Dorset Theatre, Vermont. Himself! (starring Len Cariou) Caldwell Theatre, Florida (nominated for the Carbonelli award,) the musical Himself and Nora directed by Jeff Calhoun and Joe Hardy, produced at the Old Globe, San Diego-( received a National Endowment for the Arts Award.) Also produced at the Mill Theatre Dundrum, Ireland.

Her one act play Molly and James (winner of Double Image Play Festival) directed by Leslie Hoban Blake, published by Samuel French and Applause Books -continues to be produced throughout the United States. Molly and James “ is one of only a select number of One-Acts to be included in Lincoln Center Library’s Tape and Film Collection. Joanna’s My Name: –printed by Stages Magazine. Other one acts have been produced at the Actors Studio, Rattlestick Theater, Kaufman Theatre, Laurie Beechman Theatre and The Workshop. Miss Walsh’s recent plays are Mr.Tweedy’s Neighbors and an evening of one acts Lost and Found.

She’s a member of the Dramatist Guild, Irish American Writers and Artists, League of Professional Theatre Women and Screen Actors’ Guild.
